Ingredients

Dry Ingredients

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup cocoa powder
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt

Wet ingredients

  • 1/2 cup applesauce unsweetened
  • 1/4 cup coffee syrup can substitute maple syrup
  • 1/4 cup rice or almond milk
  • 1/4 cup vegetable oil
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1 1/2 cups vegan chocolate chips
  • 1 1/2 cups walnuts optional

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

  2. Combine all dry ingredients in a small mixing bowl.


  3. Combine all wet ingredients in a large mixing bowl.

  4. Add dry ingredients to wet ingredients.  Mix well with a wooden spoon.

  5. Spread batter into an 8 x 8 pan coated with cooking spray or lined with parchment paper.  Bake for 35 minutes or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.  Remove from oven and cool in pan for 30 minutes.
